Light Housekeeping

The everyday upkeep that keeps a home comfortable and free of the clutter and spills that cause falls.

A caregiver walks alongside an older woman, carrying groceries home together.

Housekeeping is about safety as much as tidiness. Loose rugs, cluttered hallways, laundry piled on the stairs and a spill nobody noticed are among the most common causes of falls at home.

Our caregivers handle the light, routine upkeep that keeps a home livable: laundry, dishes, changing the bed, wiping surfaces, taking out rubbish, and keeping walkways clear.

This is light housekeeping, not deep cleaning. We do not do heavy lifting, climb ladders, move furniture, clean exterior windows or handle hazardous materials.

Why It Helps

How Light Housekeeping Makes a Difference

Fewer trip hazards

Clear floors and prompt spill clean-up remove the most common causes of falls inside the home.

A home that feels manageable

Staying on top of small tasks prevents the overwhelm that comes when they pile up.

Less strain on family

Adult children stop spending every visit catching up on chores and can simply visit instead.

Questions

Light Housekeeping — Common Questions

No. We provide light housekeeping as part of a care visit. Deep cleaning, heavy lifting and ladder work are outside our scope — we are happy to suggest bringing in a dedicated cleaning service for those.
