In a large facility you might look after dozens of residents in a shift, moving from room to room with barely enough time to learn a name. In-home care is the opposite. You work with a small number of clients, you get to know them properly, and you see the difference your presence makes.
Because Gentle Touch Home Assist is locally owned, the office is not an abstraction. When you call about a scheduling problem or a concern with a client, you reach someone who knows you, knows the client, and can actually make a decision.
We are honest about the hard parts too. Some assignments are emotionally heavy. Some clients are resistant at first. Some families are difficult during a stressful period. What we can promise is that you will not be left to handle those situations on your own.
What the work actually involves
Our caregivers provide non-medical support: helping with bathing and dressing, preparing meals, light housekeeping, medication reminders, mobility assistance, transportation and companionship.
You will not be performing skilled nursing tasks, administering medication or giving medical advice — those fall outside non-medical home care, and we are clear about that boundary with clients and caregivers alike.
