Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions families ask us most — including the ones about money.
Non-medical home care covers help with everyday living rather than medical treatment: bathing and dressing, meals, light housekeeping, medication reminders, mobility support, companionship and transportation. It does not include skilled nursing, wound care, injections or medication administration, which require a licensed medical professional.
Call us or request a free in-home assessment through this website. We visit your home at no cost, talk through daily routines and concerns, and put together a written care plan. There is no obligation to proceed after the assessment.
Yes. The in-home assessment is free and carries no obligation. Many families use it simply to understand their options before deciding anything.
It depends on the level of care and caregiver availability, and we will give you a straight answer when you call. For hospital discharges, contact us as soon as a discharge date is set so we can work to have care in place for the day your loved one comes home.
Every caregiver completes our application, interview, background screening and documentation process before being assigned to a client, and completes orientation before their first visit.
We match caregivers based on care needs, personality and preferences, and we want the match to work. If it is not the right fit, tell us and we will arrange a different caregiver.
Consistency matters, so we work to keep the same caregiver with your loved one. When a substitute is needed for illness or holiday, we let you know in advance wherever possible.
Cost depends on the hours and level of care your plan requires. We provide clear pricing during your free assessment so you can make a decision with real numbers rather than estimates.
We accept private pay and long-term care insurance. We do not accept Medicare, and we do not accept veterans' benefits. Medicare does not cover non-medical home care of the kind we provide in any case — it may cover short-term skilled home health ordered by a physician, but not ongoing help with bathing, meals, housekeeping or companionship. If a program we do not accept is the only realistic way to fund care, we will tell you honestly rather than let you spend time on an assessment.
Often, yes. Call us and we will tell you honestly what we can arrange and how quickly. We would rather be straight with you than over-promise.
We serve Plainfield, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Joliet, Shorewood and communities across Will and DuPage Counties, plus surrounding Chicagoland areas depending on caregiver availability. Call to confirm coverage for your address.
Our care is provided wherever your loved one lives. Talk to us about your situation and we will tell you whether we can support it.
A note on what we can and cannot advise on
We can explain how home care works and what it costs with us. We cannot advise on your specific insurance policy, tax position or benefit eligibility — for that, speak with your insurer, a financial advisor or the relevant benefits program directly.
This website is not monitored for emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
